2005-06 Exquisite Channing Frye
Cards! In all the years I collected I never once collected a “prospect”… someone you think has the potential to become something big. In 2005-06 I decided to give that a try. In the early to mid season, Channing Frye started to get some playing time with the NY Knicks. And I loved his silky smooth shot and his seeming ability to score. At one point he was averaging close to or over 20 points over a span of a few games. That is when this collection started. At this time (2007-08) Frye has been traded to the Portland Trailblazers where he is playing behind several big men like Aldridge and will be playing behind Oden when Oden finally recovers from his knee surgery. Unfortunately, my big Frye collection currently appears to be of a small fry. But maybe someday, he will hit it big. It was a lot of fun gathering these cards. Rookie Cards! As you might already know, Exquisite releases a few variations
of the rookie cards. For Frye they had what most would consider the real true
rookie card. This is a card that has a patch from a jersey worn by Frye along
with an autograph. These are limited to only 99 copies. Along with that is the
gold parallel card that is numbered to only 25 copies. Then there is the Gold
Auto Patch card numbered to Frye’s jersey number, which at the time he played
for the NY Knicks, was #7. He also has a “rainbow”
rookie card which is numbered to only one in the world. Alas, that card is
sitting in an even better Exquisite collection. I have no hopes of securing
that card. But I know it has a great home! So… here are the cards! Rookie
